The Sales and Marketing Representative for the Pepper Pike location of Ohio Real Title, Janelle Keifer spends a lot of her time communicating with real estate agents and encouraging them to work with ORT to close on their sales. But more importantly, she says, is that she works “hand-in-hand with our escrow teams, to ensure real estate agents and their clients have the best possible experience when closing on a home.”
Prior to joining ORT, Janelle spent 20 years in sales, at Xerox and Daiichi Sankyo Pharmaceuticals. Once she had children she worked remotely as a Logistics Coordinator for an international packaging company.
We recently had the opportunity to talk with Janelle about her work, as well as how she spends her time away from Ohio Real Title.

Fast Facts About Janelle Keifer
What personal qualities do you have that help you to be successful in your role at ORT?
I am an eternal optimist, love to take care of my clients’ needs and I have a passion for sales.
How do you think Ohio Real Title is different from other title companies?
Ohio Real Title is a large company with a small-company feel. We are always one step ahead technologically, which allows us to make it easy to sign anywhere in the United States. We generally care about our clients and treat each sale as if it is the only one.
What is your favorite thing about working at Ohio Real Title?
I love working with my brother, Rick Capretta. I love the freedom that ORT President, Ryan Marrie, gives his employees to do what they are good at. I feel like I am making an impact every day in our industry.
How did your role at ORT change during the pandemic?
I became a broadcaster! Who would have thought? The industry changed and with not seeing anyone, I had to stay relevant. I created an online weekly show, called “Tenacious J” where I discuss topics in the industry and interview agents. It provided me facetime with the industry despite not being physically in front of them.
How do you expect the changes that occurred in 2020 to impact your work in 2021, either in how you work or the industry as a whole?
The changes made in 2020 I would hope stay is how closings are conducted in the Greater Cleveland area. Instead of waiting until the deed is recorded at the county, we cannot extend gap coverage until that happens after receiving the buyer’s funds and seller/buyer documentation.
And I will continue to do my broadcast until the industry gets back to some sort of normalcy with in-person team meetings and events.
When you are not working, how do you like to spend your free time?
My free time is consumed with my family. I have a loving husband and four amazing boys! I am an avid reader and love working out as well.
What are you reading/watching/listening to?
Right now, I am listening to Bruno Mars, HER, and Gaga because my 3-year old son is her #1 fan! I am a huge historical fiction fan and have been reading many books on social injustice; trying to learn how I can play a part in society to bridge the gap and become an equalizer.
What are three words that your clients and/or colleagues have used to describe you?
Easy (to work with), Lucrative, Fun (ELF)
What are your words to live by?
I can and I will.
